Camp Ozanam – Annual Vincentian Day

Camp Ozanam – Annual Vincentian Day 1000 1000 St. Vincent de Paul Detroit

Camp alumni and Vincentians along with their families gathered at Camp Ozanam on July 13th for the Annual Vincentian Day.

It was a perfect day for family and friends to gather at camp to meet our campers, tour the facility, enjoy a meal together and to honor this year’s Camp Medallion Award recipient Paul Michael Thoen, a man who has dedicated over 40 years to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Detroit, mostly with our summer camp program.

Mike has given countless hours to make sure underprivileged boys and girls throughout the Archdiocese of Detroit have the opportunity to have a life-changing camping experience for free.  Through his commitment and passion, Mike exemplifies the values we associate with

Camp Ozanam; Accept, Share and Develop.

Thank you Mike, for serving others

It’s Not Too Late to Enroll Campers!

We realize some families are not able to attend an Enrollment Gathering or they enroll for camp after the Enrollment Gatherings. Conferences can work with the family to fill out the paperwork, interview the camper, and send the completed packet to the Camps Office (they do not have to attend the Enrollment Gathering). Conferences will need to make sure all the paperwork is filled out (see the sheet “How to Fill Out the Forms”) and include a copy of their physical and proof of age (only for new campers). Then, mail the entire packet to the Camps Office.

Thank you for your support for Camp Ozanam and our Campers and families!

Attention Parents!!!

Attention Parents!

It’s that time to reach out to your local Vincentian to find out more about camp. Enrollment is open to campers of all religious faiths. Campers do not have to be Catholic to attend our camps but they do need to go through their local Catholic Church that has a St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) Conference. To find a parish near you with a SVdP Conference go to and select “need help” and “general assistance.”

Or, call your nearby Catholic Church. You may also contact St. Vincent de Paul to find your local SVdP Conference by calling 1-877-788-4623. Press #2, #5, and then follow the prompts, which will ask you to leave a message. Be sure to ask for assistance in finding a local SVdP Conference so that you can enroll in Camp Ozanam’s summer camp program.
