A Campaign for Change Together, we can help neighbors in need find hope, feel connected, and embark on a pathway towards self-sustainability.
When you struggle to clothe your children, feed your family, or simply keep your heat and lights on, it’s almost impossible to see beyond today. A pathway to a better tomorrow suddenly seems out of reach.
Our Feed Reflect Guide campaign will help us do more than support our neighbors’ basic needs—it will unlock opportunity for them to feel connected, accomplished, and spiritually fulfilled.
With your generosity, we will empower those in need and help lift them from poverty towards a more stable path. Contact Mary Lynn Donovan at mlfdonovan@svdpdetroit.org or 313.393.2925 and make an impact today.
Feed
Food is one of the most requested forms of support at SVdPD. Together, our client choice food pantry and nutrition kitchen will enable visitors to choose the food items they need and enjoy.
This initiative will:
- Reduce food waste
- Offer shelf-stable foods, plus fruits, vegetables, dairy, and meat products
- Distribute recipe cards using items found in the pantry
- Host cooking demonstrations by local chefs on how to prepare healthy meals
- Be open some evenings to accommodate those working during the day
- Better serve our neighbors by promoting dignity and supporting health needs
Reflect
Human connection, self-esteem, and the assurance that someone cares can have a profound effect on a person’s overall well-being. When neighbors and visitors come to SVdPD’s Central Office, they will have a place to pray, rest, and find comfort both physically and spiritually.
The Chapel of St. Vincent de Paul will:
- Be available to all who need a welcoming space to rekindle their soul
- Provide a dedicated sacred space for prayer and reflection
- Restore our neighbors’ faith in their futures
- Enrich spirituality among everyone we serve
