See the Face of Christ. Be the Face of Christ. Join a group of wonderful people like you, working together to serve our neighbors in need.
As a Vincentian, you don't have to go away on a mission trip to serve Christ. You can see the face of Christ and be the face of Christ, right here in your own community.
Our Vincentians (members of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Detroit) are the point of connection between our neighbors and the help they need to break out of systemic poverty.
Whether that help comes in the form of friendship, faith, or service, Vincentians are the catalyst for making a positive difference in the lives of others.
The fundamental pillars of St. Vincent de Paul are Friendship, Spirituality, and Service. It is the aim of all Vincentians to continually grow in these areas and to do so, they form small groups called Conferences.
Traditionally, a Conference is formed at a Catholic Church within the Archdiocese of Detroit; however, a Conference may be formed among any group of like-minded people who desire to help those in need.
Membership is open to all individuals who want to follow the spirit of our founder, Blessed Frederic Ozanam, and our patron and namesake, St. Vincent de Paul.

What’s it Like to be a Vincentian?
Why Join Us?
The work that you do as a Vincentian is hard work, but it’s God’s work—and it’s impactful. As you build relationships with the neighbors in your community and other Vincentians in your conference, you will find deep enrichment in your spiritual journey.
No other organizations do home visits the way that we do—it’s a truly unique, hands-on way to engage with your community.
When you join the society, you can determine your level of involvement—it is what you make it. No matter how much time you have to give, our neighbors in need are appreciative of your support.
From conducting home visits, to participating on our advocacy committees, to volunteering at our camps and stores—the opportunities for Vincentians to get involved are vast.
While we are a Catholic organization, we welcome all to join us in helping build a more equitable and compassionate world, regardless of faith.
