CONFERENCE CONNECTION Update from John Baran - Conference Support

I want to thank all of you for welcoming me into the St. Vincent de Paul Detroit family. I’ve enjoyed meeting you and look forward to working with you. I wanted to give you an update on some of the things that have been taking place throughout our Council.

  1. Thank you to all who were able to attend the November 5th Commissioning at the National Shrine of the Little Flower Basilica, and congratulations to our new District Council and Conference Presidents.
  2. Two Ozanam Orientations were held in November, and we plan to schedule additional orientations in 2022. As soon as we know the dates, we will share them with you.
  3.  All of the EFSP funding for Phases 37, 38, and Phase CARES was spent down. St. Vincent de Paul Detroit received over $237,000 from the United Way of Southeast Michigan to reimburse Conferences for food, meals, and shelter. Thank you so much for reaching out and helping our neighbors in need.
  4. You should have received your Annual Report packets. They were sent to Conference Presidents in late September and to District Presidents earlier this month. If you have not received yours, please let me know and I will get one out to you.

Just a reminder, reports from Districts are due at the end of December, and Conference reports were due in November. If you have any questions about the reports, please do not hesitate to ask me.

In addition to the Annual Reports, the packet also included solidarity payment worksheets, an EFSP Report, Standards of Excellence, and roster updates.
