CONFERENCE CONNECTION Update from Kristen Bolds - Energy Assistance Program
The 2022 Energy Assistance Program is off to a great start. SVdPD has been awarded $4.66M in MEAP funds, $15,000 from the Total Health Foundation, and an additional $20,000 from the Catholic Foundation of Dallas, TX. This will go a long way in helping our neighbors in need with utilities as we enter the Winter season.
Thank you to everyone who participated in this year’s EAP training. If you still need training, it is still available via video. Contact me at kbolds@svdpdetroit.org for the link.
Please remember, all neighbors in need should first seek out State Emergency Relief application with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.
As of December 1, 2021, SER annual caps increase to $1,150, and neighbors in need can apply multiple times per year for additional assistance up to the cap. Also, if a neighbor in need needs assistance applying for the SER, Central Office can help. Please have them leave a message at 313.393.2855.
