Community Market Our newest food assistance resource will provide the dignity of choice as recipients select from shelf-stable foods, fresh fruits and vegetables, dairy, and meat products.
The Community Market in Detroit is open!
Through meaningful relationships and community care, this new community market continues our 140-year legacy of fighting hunger, preventing homelessness, and changing lives—one neighbor at a time.
3000 Gratiot Avenue
Detroit, MI 48207
Food is distributed by appointment on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
To make an appointment, contact Devon Henderson at 313.524.9905 or dhenderson@svdpdetroit.org.
Give
Every donation helps to ensure that no neighbor has to choose between paying rent and putting food on the table. The community market will serve 200-400 families every year, requiring more than $80k annually to keep our shelves full.
Will you help us support this community market that will serve thousands of neighbors each year? Together, we can make sure this essential resource flourishes.
Volunteers Wanted
Assistance in the form of stocking and sorting, conversing with neighbors, and surveying is needed.
We welcome groups, corporations, and individuals to help us serve our neighbors in need.
