Before the pandemic, Dave and Kim were doing well. They lived in a nice apartment with Kim’ six-year-old son and were expecting their first child together. Then, everything changed.
Like so many, both lost their job and found themselves needing help for the first time. A virtual visit with our Vincentians revealed that in addition to falling behind on rent, the family needed food and personal care items. Thanks to generous individuals, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul was able to help with rent and food to fill the kitchen cabinets, allowing them to catch up financially.
Today, Kim is training for a position that will allow her to work from home with her son, and Dave is back with his previous employer.
